When connecting all components, it seems there is not enough power to drive the whole circuit, so we had to connect the laptop to the Arduino. During the bench inspection this would be impractical, so we thought of using a portable charger. We also connected a pair of 10k ohm resistors to the circuit because if we didn’t there wouldn’t be enough power to drive the motor. In the case of the Arduino the current would also be directly going to ground so there wouldn’t be enough voltage on the pins to make it work.
The LCD screen works fine and shows the desired outputs. A circuit diagram was made to demonstrate the connections more easily.

Now that everything seems to be functioning accordingly, we revisited the idea of voice recognition. Initially we were focused on completing the main objective, so we didn’t have time on additional functionalities, however now that it’s done, we looked back into it. We found source codes on GitHub that could do the function, but the difficult part would be to implement it in our already complete design. We're not sure we can implement this function as it is difficult at this stage.
